Jenks Park Residence Ribbon Cutting
April 12, 2024
We recently held a ribbon cutting ceremony at Central Falls City Hall for our Jenks Park Residence!
Jenks Parks Residence is a transitional housing program in Central Falls, Rhode Island, developed through a partnership between Central Falls Children’s Foundation, Papitto Opportunity Connection, and the City of Central Falls. Our program aims to provide housing, workforce development, educational opportunities, and medical/mental health care for mothers and children at risk of homelessness. Funded by a $1 million investment from RIHousing, the 30-unit affordable living space offers rent-stabilized, furnished apartments with utilities for two years. The residence includes a primary-care medical clinic on-site, marking a unique approach to addressing housing and healthcare needs.
Mayor Maria Rivera emphasized the project's significance in aiding vulnerable populations, while Dr. Beata Nelken highlighted the importance of stable housing and quality medical care for long-term well-being. The facility offers various amenities and services, including a community kitchen, play areas, job training, and healthcare services. The partnership's investments aim to improve health outcomes and support women and children in Central Falls.
